Select Mode
Batch Edit Multiple Tasks
Select Mode allows you to perform actions on multiple tasks at once, saving time when you need to reorganize your work.
Entering Select Mode
There are two ways to enter Select Mode:
- Double-tap the plus button (bottom right of today view and project views)
- Tap Select Mode from the ellipsis menu
Once in Select Mode, tap the selection buttons to the right of the task to select them, or swipe across multiple buttons to quickly select several tasks at once.
Batch Operations
Change Duration
Update the time estimate for all selected tasks at once.
Move to Project
Move multiple tasks to a different project or stage.
Change Priority
Set the same priority level for all selected tasks. The list includes None, a grey flag below Low, so you can strip a priority off a batch as easily as you can apply one.
Star/Unstar
Add multiple tasks to Today or remove them all at once.
Batch Schedule
Give every selected task the same date and start time. The sheet has a calendar, Today and Tomorrow shortcuts, and a time picker in five-minute steps. Clear removes the schedule from all of them instead.
Delete
Remove multiple tasks in one action. There is no confirmation step, so glance over your selection before you tap the trash.
Batch delete has no Undo pill
The Undo pill that Quick Delete shows covers deleting a single task, not a batch. Deleting from Select Mode removes the tasks straight away whether Quick Delete is on or off, and the toast does not appear. If you want a way back, delete tasks one at a time from their cards instead.
Smart Selection
When starring tasks:
- If any selected task is unstarred: Stars all selected tasks
- If all selected tasks are starred: Unstars all selected tasks
Pro Tip
Use Select Mode to quickly sort out your Inbox. Enter Select Mode, swipe across the selection buttons to select multiple at once, then batch move them to projects, set priorities, or star them for today. It’s the fastest way to process a large inbox.
